PROGRAM FEES

OVERVIEW
How does it work?  We combine individually tailored lesson plans, group classes, and online study from home to help students learn material needed to pass the GED Exam.  Each student will be assigned a required number of hours and lesson plans based on their assessment level (or TABE) at enrollment. Most students will need 40 to 60 in-class hours with us before an evaluation (or TABE "Post-Test") to determine if they are ready to take the GED Exam.  Some students may qualify for Fast Track, and will need only 30 hours or less.

HOW LONG WILL IT
 TAKE?
How long does it take to finish the program and get your GED?  Well, that depends on you.  Students who attend class regularly and are highly focused will finish more quickly than students who only come to class every now and then.  Most students finish up within a few months to a year, while others may take up to two years, or even as little as a few weeks.

THE GED EXAM
What happens after you've completed your hours, lesson plans, and mastered the material? Before you take the actual GED, we'll give you the Official Practice Test (OPT). This way we can determine if there's anything else you may need to brush up on before taking the exam. When your Practice scores are at the right level, we will register you to take the GED Exam at one of the nearby Columbia / Lexington testing locations. The exam fee is $80, and the test is given several times a month.

GED Exam Fee: $80 (Paid to the GED Testing Administration) or FREE with scholarship.
SCHOLARSHIP: We offer a scholarship to cover this fee for eligible students.  Please ask!

GRADUATION
Once each year, we host a formal graduation ceremony followed by a casual reception to celebrate.  Every student who earned a GED or Diploma during the same year is invited to be a part of the ceremony.  You'll have the option to either borrow or purchase your graduation cap and gown.  Friends and family of graduates are encouraged to attend.  This is our favorite time of the year - we love to see our graduates rewarded for their hard work!
